interrupted

These images are part of an ongoing photographic project that investigates experimentation and play as catalysts for creative practice. In this context, ‘play’ is understood as a deliberate act of working against conventional norms, disregarding, and at times purposefully challenging, established rules and technical guidelines.

Infrared photography is traditionally executed under clear skies and in bright midday light, conditions that enhance contrast and highlight the surreal qualities of infrared wavelengths. In contrast, I choose to work in conditions of heavy rain and fog, when the visual environment is muted and atmospherically subdued.

In addition to the atypical weather, I photograph through the car window, allowing rain to distort and obscure the view. The resulting image becomes a collaboration between light, weather, and surface, uncontrolled and inherently unpredictable.

By embracing this unpredictability, I am exploring how these interruptions not only transform the image but also affect my way of seeing and making.
